Jay's Wargaming Blog

despatch rider

I welcome feedback and contributions from fellow wargamers.

I’m also happy to add links to suitable wargame sites and blogs, and to review new books and products.

If you would like to get in touch, email me at: solowargamer@hotmail.com

  1. Dear Sirs:
I am a past member of your society. You may still have a record of when my
former membership ran out. I would like to start up my subscription again.
At present I would like to order a membership for 2010 and 2011. I would also like to get the back issues through 2000.
I have a contact in England who has agreed to pay for my membership if you will send him the bill.
His name is Dave Lanchester: landlsoc@aol.com
Thank you for any help you can give me with my current request.

    • Hi Thomas, unfortunately I’m not connected to the original Lone Warrior/solo wargames society – I just run this solo gaming blog! If you check the links you should find current details for the Yahoo Solo Wargames group – this is the place for up to date info on Lone Warrior, which is now distributed from the USA.
      Best wishes and happy gaming,

  2. Guys
Big fan of site – we need more solo sites for those of us who actually prefer playing both sides!!!
Website features new WW2 solo caming mechanism just out into the market. Marketing not yet in full swing but would welcome a review and some comments. Happy to take constructive criticism – daft not to really!!
Let me know if we can get this done and how.

  3. Hi Barry,

I’d be happy to review the product if you point me in the right direction if it’s online or let me have a review copy if it’s not. Good luck with it!

    Cheers, Jay.

  6. hi,
was a swa mem, for many years, up to the end the british pub, of lone warrior. Having piles of back issues, the wife forbade me to rejoin when it went across the pond.
As other wg societies and zines have produced cds containing the contents of back issues of their own pub, doesany exist for LW. and where can i obtain them.I would be glad of any info. thanks.

  7. What ever happened to Saunders? The Stronghold site has been abandoned for many years, and not even archived on the Wayback machine.

  8. Hi – perhaps you have a another contact for the ‘Piquet’ system you describe as the current link goes to a realty website, on which I found no obvious mention of wargaming rules? Another case of someone selling their web address for astronomic profits no doubt! Lol

  11. Hello there

I just checked out your website wordpress.com and your site takes longer than 3 seconds to load 😦

If your site takes so Long Time To Load you are losing more than half your traffic & 50% of visitors won’t return if they have trouble loading a page…

That’s a really expensive mistake to make, specially if you are paying for traffic. I can help you to improve that.

Please contact me by my email for details: wp_optimiser@consultant.com
